Success Is Not Permanent…

I’m not as big of a football fan as I am a baseball fan, but I spent the winter of 1985-1986 in the city of Chicago, so I have indeed experienced football hype of truly legendary proportion.  Whenever I hear the names of Mike Ditka or his Chicago Bears, I think of two things.  First and foremost, the unforgettable 1980’s rap classic “Super Bowl Shuffle:”

And second, the Saturday Night Live “Superfan” skits, where they parodied Chicago sports enthusiasts who elevated their teams to mythical status, and conferred deity to Coach Ditka:

But back to the quote.  I came across it this morning, not long before we got the news that our new USB Data Logger for the Digital Flowmeter has been chosen as Environmental Protection Online’s 2012 New Product of the Year (Energy category.)  This is the latest in a long line of products that have been recognized for excellence by various industrial trade publications.  I was reminded…again…that I’m blessed to be part of a team who takes “Success is not permanent” not as a warning, but a challenge to stay at the top of our game.
